Arto Tiippana Ldt is a company situated in eastern Finland, in the middle of the green forest of Rautjärvi commune. This company`s main operation are importing, repairing and maintenance of Alfa Romeos and Mercedes Benz. We also import other vehicles and make reparations to them, if needed. Our busines got started in 1988, but already long before this Arto was fixing his own cars and some friends' Alfas too as a hobby. In the beginning the car busines was only a secondary occupation for farming and truck-driving, but little by little the business expanded and we decided to quit the other things and focus on repairing and maintenance of the Alfas and Mercedes Benz.

Arto, the managing director of our company, carries out the repairings, painting works and teleselling.

Arto's hobby n:01 is motor sport. After the work he usually spends his time with his own sprint cars. Marja-Liisa works as a "secretary" who takes care  of the office, collects the goods and dispatches the mail. Her hobbies are horses, dogs and oil painting.

Our headquarters are in a building, which used to be a cowshed. There we have a garage, a paintshop, an office and above that a cosy lounge upstairs.

SERVICES

In our garage Alfas get regular services, fixings and paintings. We also repair crashed cars and swap technical parts. Repair works are mostly made using original spare parts that we import directly from Italy. This means that we can sell the parts on a reasonable price. We also have a wide variety of second hand parts, which are priced case by case, but usually the price is about one half of a new part's price.

Also Mercedes Benz can get all kinds of repairs and maintenance services. The  most essential parts needed in the basic repairs, we have on the spot and second hand parts we import from Germany and Sweden.

We also import many other cars  and motorcycles  either to be registered or to be used as spare parts. Arto's passion for rally cars has caused  the    importation of some of them, like Opel Kadett GSI 16 V and Toyota Corolla GT, for example. At least 23 Alfa Spiders, a few Porsches, some other rally cars, museum mobiles and trucks have ended up in Finland through us. You can  make an order for any car you want and we search it for you. More information about the prices and delivery schedules you can get if you call us or send an e-mail. The most general imported car that will be registered in Finland is Mercedes Benz. You can order from us either just the vehicle importation, or the "whole package" including importation, customs clearance, registration and inspection.

Our services include also mail-order selling of the spare parts. You can order the items by the telephone or e-mail. Ordered items we send to you by post or bus freight as cash on delivery parcels.

 

ARTO'S HOBBIES

Arto has always been strongly addicted to  motor sports. His rally carreer started in the 70's when he made a trial in s "everyman's class". His first real rally Arto drove in B-juniors class with Alfa-Romeo Giulia, which was painted green-white-red, just like Italian flag. After moving to A-juniors' class Arto built himself a new car, Toyota Corolla GT, group N. His co-driver was Ari-Pekka Mälkiä from Imatra and the team started to get some trophies....

Every new and  then Toyota got some damages, and for the sake of variety the green-white-red colouring was turned to red -white -green after the car had hit the trees.For a little while Toyota was painted blue, but then the team discovered a terrible thing: a blue car turns much more easily upside-down. So the Italian flag colours come back.

After Toyota there was Opel Ascona B, group F. It was the only rally car that was bought ready all others were built in our garage.

Alfa Romeo 33 4x4 group N came to replace the Opel. Alfa's motor was built up by Teuvo Pohjanperä, and the car was fast enough to meet with success in ice sprint competitions. Nowadays two men from Imatra, Jari Miettinen and Jarkko Tukiainen drive this Alfa in rally competitions a couple of times a year.

Much more power was needed for the sprint . So, Arto Started to build a new car, Porsche 911 3,0 Special Salon. The engine came from Perry*s Motors. Two winters Arto took part in sprint competitions with this Green-white-red Porsche successfully, without interruptions. Later Juha Ylihauhala from Helsinki became the car's new owner.

Arto’s co-driver Ari-Pekka started to build a new car for group F. After two years hard work this Toyota Corolla GT was ready to welcome it’s soul, the engine, made again “by Teuvo Pohjanperä”. Then the car went to Arto, who mainly used the car in sprints and a few rally competitions.

Artos 16 years old son Jussi takes enthusiastically part in his fathers hobby. Jussi is the maintenance chief of the Korpjärvi Racing Team. He has been driving a car since he was 4 years old first kilometers on ice with a mini-car but later with Toyota Starlet which his  father build for him. Many years practice on ice has given Jussi so much skill, that now he is as fast as his daddy on the track.  Last winter he tried his father's Corolla GT equipped with   racegearbox and quite a lot of power (200 hp).
